Thank you very much for this bud, I've just set up the notification bot just about now, so, I am currently waiting to get notified of a new reply to my post through the bot to ascertain if I set it up properly, as the setup process took less than 30 seconds, so, I am wondering if I actually did it the right way ;D.
And speaking of approval from admin, i do not think this should have anything to do with the admin or the shop, we have enjoyed this service for free on bitcointalk, makes no sense to have to pay for a notification service over here.
But all the same, let's watch and see.

Thoughts
The bot scrapes data per msg_id in 1-minute intervals, meaning the notification might be delayed by 1 minute or more. The interval is due to the cron job limit. The delay might be more painful if my site's server is down, too.
The long interval is to avoid the forum servers' outage, which I guess 1 minute is enough to avoid this. The interval time will be changed in the future so in the meantime...
Note, I don't save any data to my server except the msg_id, which I used to identify what msg_ids are already scraped.
Bot checks the subject and post content, including the quotes, so every time your post is quoted, you will be notified.

Wow just realised why you need the acceptance of admin. This would serve as some kind a competitor(free) to the shop but it doesnt provide all services rendered in the shop so admin might accept it. Well i dont know but just post the link to your post @ the forum chat for admin to see.

I just checked the logs, and i find it odd, do your telegram have username? Because if i remember correctly you can setup a telegram account even without a username, but for this bot to work, you should have it.

Yes, this is just a shared hosting. Although i have some other tools too but I don't think my site requires many server resources by now. Thanks for the offer btw, but i guess i will stick to mine for the meantime :)

That's great. Yes because of that thought and after seeing the logs, I changed the code earlier when you replied about having trouble with the registration. Although there's still a bug but it works now.

Resources are somehow limited, but it has php. I learned to do a lot of stuff in php, as this is what I got for free!

Yeah of course it works, I got notified the very minute you replied to my comment above, but I was no longer online here, I was busy with some other stuffs, so I couldn't come here to share the good news that the bot actually works for me..
I also got notification from examplens as well.
So in all, this proves that I did set up the bot well, now, I am wondering how this became faster to setup than that of btt ;D.
Anyways, I am now waiting for the other features to be implemented and activated.
And I can also see that the admin have given his consent, congratulations 🎊.

i received your reply a minute from the posted time like you said. Kudos, more creations ahead. You wouldnt know how big what you did is. The inability for me to keep touch with a thread have been mentioned has been an headache. Sometimes i reply a thread without recalling the board. The next thing is i cant find it anymore.

This is what we've all waiting for to come. a now busy forum will need a bot like they have on the other forum to make the discussion more interesting and the flow of discussion continues, checking the bot there is still no menu available

But looking at the time you made your post and the time the notification arrived I believe it took less than a minute for it to appear, which in my Opinion is superb.

But, I promise I will send you positive karma every time I visit this thread (If I don't forget). bitmover tried to create a similar bot but it didn't work for him. I just activated this bot and I hope It will work fine for me. A minute delay is nothing. I am okay with even 10 minutes delay. It's better having something than nothing. At least we don't have to dig every threads to check if we were mentioned or not. Thank you again.

Yeah. I will keep working on mine, which is a bit different and get mentions and quotes.
I am already using btw. I can run just locally, as I was not able to login with a bot yet...

Yesterday I decided to test this bot - the result is excellent. I advise everyone to try it (at least). No passwords/emails and since I entered my nickname = I get notifications about replies.
Below on the screenshot, you can see how the notifications themselves come.

Definitely thank you for sharing a great piece of information. Through this setting we a user can easily know about various posts of this forum or anything important easily through Telegram. We have seen many such features in bitcointalk forum but it is really nice to see some such features in this forum as well. However, many members may refrain from this type of setting if additional money is to be donated for this feature. A member in bitcointalk forum can easily do this kind of setting if he wants to, in this case no one needs permission to do this kind of setting but here I see something different.

Unfortunately, I can't use and check via uid since i don't scrape user's data like what TryNinja does that he has an archive of user's data in btt. Besides that there's a confirmation when inputting the username, but still, let's see what others thoughts about this. Thanks for the input btw.

Nicely done @ PX-Z, it nice to see that we can now get notifications from this forum without logging in all the time. Before now. I always received notifications of replies from tracked threads on my Gmail. It was a bit helpful but not enough. Thanks for this mate, its going to be helpful for all. I know for now it's just a test and sooner or later, more features may be added. Keep up the good work mate.

This is a great addition to the forum though the Notifier has a lot to work on. When I checked the notification bot in telegram I only saw mention and that is the only feature that is working bfor now. And I believed by the end of this year everything in the notification will be well set to. I really appreciate the admin of this great forum. I have not met a person like him that I working tirelessly. Thanks Admin.

Just finished setting up my telegram bot and I just want to say a big thanks to PX-Z for help setting this notifier as it would be helpful in getting new updates here on this our second home. Although the bot is still limited as the feature of tracking users and board isn't there but I believe with time coming PX-Z will do so to update and make it more proficient. But still thanks PX-Z a job well done

Indeed, I myself am already familiar with the telegram bot in bitcointalk, now altcoinstalks is also back thanks to you, I am sure many users will use this bot to help them in posts that are replied to by other users.
This is nice. I will definitely start using it when the engagement here becomes very high. As for now, I can definitely find my way around here as I am barely going to be mentioned anywhere in the forum. Meanwhile, I deactivated my telegram account for the mean time.

Actually We have become addicted to notifications in Bitcointalk and when we come to new home we have to check each thread one by one manually for new reply and mention. We requested many times im chat and Forum discussion and Bitmover promised to bring a bot with various feature.
Your bot is working so good but I will advise to make it more better by adding Specific thread,board option too. Waiting for phrase update and I hope we will have not wait long for it.

yeah you right it won't be hard again. Anytime you being mentioned in any of your post you get notified. But there's some features that not yet added but in time I'm sure it would be.

Here are a few updates on the bot. Using the /menu command/button you can now.
- Track Phrase/text
- Track user posts
- Ignore users (soon)
You can add phrases by typing
Phrase: your_phrase
And add user tracking by typing
User: usernameThis info/instruction is added on the bot as well.

I believe that he will send all donations directly to Namecheap to pay the expenses. As far as I know, Namecheap does not accept Monero or L-USDT, so I believe it is simpler for him to just send the funds and pay for the service, instead of doing the conversion first.

I've found one problem. In the bot, came the 2nd time the same message. This is obviously some kind of error, please look for yourself. Do you have similar problems with notification?
P.S. I will be grateful if you can fix it. Yesterday, there were no such errors. Or send instructions on what to do to fix it yourself. Deleting the bot's history completely, can it help me? Or type in my nickname and see for yourself, within a day, how the notifications from other users will come in. :o

This feature will only prevent the subscriber from receiving notifications from certain users.

Thanks for the feedback, yes, I'm aware of this, i received this double notification too earlier when I was updating the live code from the test bot, i messed up.
It should be fine now just like yesterday. While this might happen to track users and track phrase too, so keep me updated when there is a bug like this :).

My thinking was that there are a ton of scumbags out there looking to steal or scam. If they are watching notifications for well-known users offering services, a company replies to a post, they try to swoop in and steal some business or offer a scam. Something along those lines.

Yes, these 3 people will get the notification too, since there's no way i can limit this to the original altt user only, although there is a way but it's complicated and needs some more steps for those who will use the bot.

At the moment everything is working great. To be honest, I've never used something like this before. For me this is something new and unknown. I communicated in the old-fashioned way and didn’t even think that there were ways to simplify my task of finding answers from the forum participants who quoted me.

I just found out about this notifier today, this is a very great tool PX-Z. I have set it up and it was very simple and stress free. With all honesty, the forum is improving and tools like this will make it more convenient for users to interact here.
@PX-Z, if one add made mistake submitting their username to the bot for notification and the bot already saved the username, is there a way it can be modified through the same telegram account?
Or can the bot tell if the username is not a valid one on altcoinstalk?

You can start again using /start command and then reapply the correct username. Or just use the stop notification button in /menu and start again.

Yes, it's very important one I believe but I missed it for a long time however, I'm happy that I finally setup this bot and now it's working for me. I got notified about your reply within seconds and that's how I found this post.
I'm kind of loving this tool and hope I won't miss any mentions now. So far the experience with this tool is exciting and I'm very thankful to OP for creating this amazing tool for us. I also hope to see that your tool will work similarly in future. By the way you're working too hard on it, keep it up man.

They can scam anyone even without using this bot if they know your username, he only needs to pretend he is you to trick other people.
Bitcointalk forum notification bot exist for much longer and I never heard anyone used it to scam people this way.
Telegram is full of scammers and people pretending to be someone else, so everyone should be careful.

I wanted to make something simple and similar with bitcointalk supernotifier, but to still have clear differences.
I rotated and twisted telegram symbol slightly to look more like letter A, for Altcoinstalks, and I think that text is readable enough.

Telegram notification bot is highly recommended by forum members because we really need a notification system to improve forum interaction with quotes and mentions notifications.
The bot is very easy and has good options, although BitcoinTalk SuperNotifier V2 has a little more options, but in my opinion, this bot is more than enough.
I have not yet tested its performance in practice, but I am sure it will be great, thank you.

I'm having trouble determining which of my postings have received responses; I have to go through each one by one.
I was seeking for Telegram Notifier the first time I teleported here since I have been using it in the other forum, but I couldn't find a similar thread until I came across this one.
I'm very happy to have this because I no longer check my posts to see if there's a response, I just have to check Telegram.

OMG, you did it, I was eagerly waiting for this bot and you have made this on 17 Jan and I came to know about it today, silly me. Well, I get to used with manual method by checking the recent posts one by one and then typing ctrl+F and writing my username in it to see if anyone has mentioned me. This works in 1 or 2 page long threads. But the manual method is really time-consuming and doesn't work when you would have received replies on older posts and you are checking only the new ones.
This bot will change my life, it will increase the output of my posts and will make me make posts more than often. I can't thank you more, you have done a big favor to me and people like me. But why I did not hear about this bot from anyone till now, I think not many people know about it or it's just I was that ignorant till now. Either way, thanks again.

I just realized this bot existed because of a post on a local board by @dansus021. Big thanks to @PX-Z and the team working on this bot. I am sure, with this bot, everyone on the altcointalk forum will be helped by Telegram notifications. At least it will give me an idea as well of what I will be doing when I go online using my PC at home and go to altcoinstalks.com
If I could give karma more than +1, maybe it would land right now. But unfortunately it can't be done. :P

If the change can be effected immediately it would be nice. Like myself, I would like keeping track of my karma activities to see for myself how I accumulate my Karma. You know one thing, people keep track of the post's that gives them Karma because that would help them work towards that direction of improving themselves on that particular aspect and style that forum members would be interested in their works and posts here. That alone would make them build their capacity in rendering good services, suggestions and contributions to conversations. It would help a lot it that aspect of Karma notification is activated on the bot.

Okay. You have done well to have developed the altcoin talk telegram bot notifier. This is one of the most advanced technology this platform currently have working because it would always keep members on the know of events and activities going on the platform by tagging and mentions.

This is actually more than enough since the karma details aren’t publicly available.
I just recently received a notification about my karma, it actually records the old karma number unlike bttk_notification bots where you’ll have to manually set it.

Just like what was mentioned above, i just added the karma notification, although this is something experimental at the moment. I changed the registration, and the bot needs a profile URL now (with uid), instead of a username only. This will do the scraping, checking the current karma of every registered user.
On the current subscribers, uid were added manually to get the karma and will now be notified once the karma is changed, either negative and positive.

At last I received a karma notification today with excitement. This is one point that would always keep members on a steady look out for the platform. I have long been expecting this particular feature to be very much active since the telegram bot notifier was activated. Although not full details are given by the bot but the write up of good cheers and encouragement is okay and very much welcomed by members. OP, you have done well. I don't know about others, but me personally. There were times when I didn't reply to other users (because I didn't keep track of who replied to me). I simply didn't have the time. Now, in addition to receiving notifications of replies, I also receive notifications of karma received. This is as convenient as possible.

This is something i'm working and trying to optimize, i scraped the users profile every 5 minutes.
The bot maybe send a wrong message how a user can send 4 negative karma in a single click. and a user can send 1 positive or negative karma to same person in after every 10 hour.
The bot dont notify in every time you receive a karma button, the -4 karma you see in the sample is not from a single user only. Since the bot scrape user data for 5 minutes it could collect multiple karma in on that 5 minutes.

This is a good tool you can be notified if someone mentions you or someone responds to your posts or you will notify you once the target phrase is mentioned here on the forum.
I'd like to suggest adding tracked boards and topics just like the tools added with tryninja on the telegram bot from the other forum.

Another idea you can think of is adding simple Post Counter, this can help campaign managers and members each week.
There was some confusion with Activity number that is shown in profile and normal number of posts.

The problem happened again (had a similar one, two weeks ago).
During the night, at one moment I received 4 notifications. I guess the bot was hung up at that moment and decided to duplicate the answers. I'm not trying to rebuke you (by no means think that). I am only trying to help, find the problem and notify you about it.
Tried deleting the bot again/re-entering it = can't tell the result yet. If the problem shows up again, then it didn't work for me. I can still give feedback in the future if needed.
P.S. A bot is convenient + practical. Thanks for taking care of this and optimizing it as much as possible. 8)

Hey, probably it happened yesterday around 6-78 PM forum time because there was some downtime in my server at that time, so i adjusted something and probably some posts were not scrapped.
Or if the post was edited since the bot only scraped the post once, and it is still in my queue to rescraped edited posts.

- Receive notifications from edited posts.
- XMR donation address added
You will now receive notifications from edited posts. The bot will scrape posts again after 5 minutes and will notify users who have mentioned them in that timeframe, including the tracked phrases. This also means that the telegram bot won't send any notifications when edited after 5 mins.
I also changed the way the bot scraped. The bot scraped data from action=recent (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=recent) and the next page action=recent;start=10 (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=recent;start=10) every minute.
Let me know if you encounter any errors. And feel free to suggest :)

from action=recent and the next page action=recent;start=10 every minute avoids duplicates, good to know
I would also like to make a scraper to do statistics, this helps me a lot
so I could put a cronjob every 1 minute with action=recent;start=10

I have thought about this after i changed the way the bot scrapes and when the bot make notification from edited posts since i need to save the post data for me to compare if its edited.
I can only think like what ninjastic.space website can do than what bpip.

I didn't get 1 notification today. It wasn't until I went to the thread that I realized about it. Is it like this for everyone? Is it necessary to restart the bot in such a case?
P.S. Or, if I reply to a user more than 1 time in a day (and he replies to me) I won't get a notification in the bot about a new sms from him?

When did this happen? I remember i have explained this to you about the edited post before the recent update of scraping the edited post. Because post is only scrape once before, after it was edited then mention you or quote your post you wont get any notification.
And once the bot have problem i post it here that some posts will not be scraped, or will end up twice notification or more.

Yes, in the past 1 hour posts are all affected because of the posted_date issue that I'm archiving — to have an archive of the forum posts. I'm fixing it now, and it should probably stop sending multiple notifications. I apologize for that 😅

When did this happen? I remember i have explained this to you about the edited post before the recent update of scraping the edited post. Because post is only scrape once before, after it was edited then mention you or quote your post you wont get any notification.
And once the bot have problem i post it here that some posts will not be scraped, or will end up twice notification or more.
A week ago this all happened I forgot you wrote to me so will be aware in the future of this, thanks.
Question: On the forum, it's impossible to track who gave you +/- in karma, is it possible to do it through a bot? I think, if such a chip appeared - many users would be interested to join your project (telegram bot). Clearly, you will need to contact the administration-forum, (if you like the idea). But the fact is you'll get help with that.
P.S. Keep up the good work, people will definitely support you in this hard work. + If I come up with something interesting, I will definitely share my thoughts with you. 8)

I can't do that at the moment, as i've said on other thread i can only add features that has publicly available data. admin has ways to do it, he even made The Eye Of Sauron (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=316161), and it looks like that feature you are talking will be available to the forum.

There is no edit option for this bot actually from tracking phrases, ignoring to tracking boards. Because you can easily remove them then add a new one, or add/bring back the removed one.
I might add those later on but it's not that priority for now.

There is no edit option for this bot actually from tracking phrases, ignoring to tracking boards. Because you can easily remove them then add a new one, or add/bring back the removed one.

@admin admin is it possible that the karma received should be captured on the top of every post or topic created by members so that members would know the exact post and comment that received the karma without the identity of the giver as initially done. This would give a sense of satisfaction to work in that direction. Likewise the Telegram notification bot too to show the topic and link that received the karma. If this is possible, it would be nice and worth anticipating.

Thank you. I always thought that bitcointalk development boards has different environment, it's for the elite, so i'm trying to be lowkey. But yeah maybe i'll make something there too ;D. I will try to optimize the bot first then will release the archives.

Greetings, I noticed the following problem. I would be grateful (for the umpteenth time) if you could help me. ;)
Yesterday, someone gave me a "+1 karm" = no notification in the bot. You can see in the screenshot, for February 19 - no karma notifications.
This morning, I log into the bot and see that overnight came 2 single notifications.
P.S. I want to note that the other day restarted the bot. Everything worked fine and here is again a problem.

Yes, these two were fixed now just earlier, before you made the post — right after I received the double karma notification, too. The other day, the notification didn't work because of the karma logs I created. Thanks for mentioning it though.

I received the same notification with all my karma going to zero after receiving negative karma, but this was all because forum was down and bot could not read correct information.
Maybe PX-Z can update this and and text showing when forum is not accessible, and when it comes back online.

Probably not, altt uses godaddy or cloudflare and my site uses namecheap. It's just coincidence, although the forum was down for several hours mine was just minutes at least 30 minutes down which also the reasons why not all bot users received the wrong negative karma notification.

before you do the wild scraping it does, make a discovery call and see what happens
if the return status of the http call is a status that makes you understand that there are problems, drop everything
you avoid timeout calls which are always a bad thing

I don't know if it happens to me or to anyone else but whenever I try to track a board the bot stops working. I am literally unable to track any board with this bot.
I am not having the same issue with the Bitcointalk notifier bot but I'm having this issue with Altcoinstalks notifier bot.

It's working for me now but I'm still unable to track boards with the bot and that's why I'm unable to find out new posts of the forum on those boards. On Bitcointalk bot it's working fine for me but your bot isn't working in that department. However, mentions are working for me which's enough.

I just saw the bug while trying using my other telegram account. Can you try again, and check if it works.
To be precise, the saved chat_id become "2147483647" which is the maximum positive value for 32 bits of on integer which i'm using int datatype saving the ID.
The solution that gives me an answer came from this[1]. Again, i apologize for this inconvenience.

No need, just click/tap the menu button and proceed for tracking any boards.
It's also note to mention that tracking boards is only for public viewed boards. Boards that is only for special ranks/groups, like the Heroes & Legends Lounge, Trash boards, etc. cannot be tracked.

I have restarted the bot and manually added the boards for tracking. The boards I'm trying to track are all public, let's see how it goes. I will be able to come with a proper response after few hours.

The logo of this Telegram bot is really good, but I have to complain that there are too many faces on the Btt notification bot. Since I use both bots, I must pay close attention to which forum the notification comes from.
Is there a possibility to make the logo at least a little more unique and easier to recognize than Btt? Even if some red/orange dot is added, that would help. It's not particularly important, but it would be useful. At least to me.

I already wrote earlier that it is not that important. Even if I were willing to pay, PX-Z would have to approve it for all users, so I didn't even expect it. As a designer, you should have a feeling for something unique, rather than similar.

examplens what you are saying is correct but there is different in the two Logos, and if you look well you can discovered that the Logo of the altcoinstalks notification is more lighter in color than the bitcointalk Logo. The bitcointalk Logo is more dark in the center than the other. And another different for you to know where the notification comes from is the name of the bot. Once you receive the notification, you have to check the bot name to know where it is coming from. Well I can't dispute the argument.here because even examplens is also a design so he also know what is good and bad.

A little update. The pxzone.online site and the telegram bot will not work as of the moment as the hosting plan was suspended because of the ddos attacked on my other site that make it's resources affects the other sites that was hosted on the same shared hosting plan. So the registrar decide to suspend it, i hope its temporary and i already contacted them to fix this issue.

Okay, after some thoughts, i agree that you are right. But as i checked the code, it should work like that.
I checked the registered users in telegram and your registered username there is different. That's why you received the notification because the registered altt username in telegram is different on your actual altt username. The bot will stop sending notification to you once you updated it.

Better use the one with "Igebotz" as its the one always shows whenever you make posts, i mean the one that appears when you make post/reply because that's what the bot get when a post is parsed.

Is there an option to ignore users in this forum? I am not seeing it from my own end. Although I have no one to ignore for now but I know the need will arise in the future when I'm steady here.
Ignore in Altcoinstalks forum exist in settings but it is not as good as in other forums, so you can still see posts and topics created by ignored members.
Bitmover made a nice userscript that fixes this issue and it removes everything posted by someone who is ignored.
This script makes forum look much more cleaner:

You can also ignore someone on PX-Z telegram bot in settings, but that is only for noitifications.

If anyone notice the telegram won't work just now, for mentions and etc. because of changing/upgrading hosting to VPS. Well, since it's my first time setting up a VPS so yeah, it will is time consuming and head-scratching lmao.

Technically it can be possible. Checking for additional membership looks not a big issue. But adding and removing of an additional membership happens not so often and with a very small number of users so I'm not sure it is so actual to monitor accounts for such a change. ???

I also got the notification but I quickly understood that it is an April fool. But still shocked me, I was just brainstorming around to where I have offended the system and it was not even mentioned and when I clicked the link it directed me to this thread and the first thing.i did was to look for my name and I didn't see my name in anywhere and I saw other users also complaining then I doused myself with those comments and finally confirmed that it is an April fool. Really the admin caught my attention today upon I knew that it is an April fool.

Anyone who doesn't know what today is will be caught by this full-time and they will ask questions about how and when did they cheat in the forum.
When I was notified about this, through the telegram bot, I was surprised at first, until I was made to understand this can't pass the prank of April fool that I have been seeing in Bitcointalk for years. Maybe this is the way altcointalks wants to prank its members to put fear in them.

The first time I received a notification from the BTT forum, I was surprised when I saw the notification message on the Telegram bot, and I believed it at first because I forgot that today was April 1. I was very nervous and quickly went to the link to see what had happened, but I was surprised by the topic. This is the second one from the forum notifications bot.

Let me just say That for atleast 20 to 30 seconds, I fell for the above prank, when I got that notification, I got worried about what must have gone wrong, though I know I've not cheated in any way, that should warrant my being banned here, I quickly opened my Browser and logged in on the forum, and everything seems fine, I checked a couple of threads and everything was fine with my account, just then, I returned back to the notification and noticed the date "April 1", and just then, I realized this could be a prank, 😂,

Current users count now is 102, and it’s me who joined of course, I was looking all day for this very useful bot that I used and became essential for me as the one in BTT forum as well. I believe it’s an important tool if you are an active member. Getting into discussions here will require a notifier and also a reminder to check who replied to you or even asked or mentioned you for help.
The coolest thing in the topic that I have noticed is the counters of current users , and also the donation wallets are showing live numbers not just pictures. I guesss Iam missing a lot here compared to BTT
Ps: the bot is working perfectly and I will share some reviews the next days if I noticed anything. Thank you for this tool

It's possible, but it's not yet given in the profile page as a membergroups so it can be added yet.

Sorry is anyone having issue with karma notifications? I saw an increase in the number of karma I have (from the list that was posted) and on going through the notification bot I saw that nothing about the karma came in.
And just a few minutes ago I checked my profile and saw that I have received an additional karma but still no notification - so I’d like to know if it’s general issue or just mine?
P.S. other features are working fine.

It works fine for me.
At some point I didn't get mention notifications, it seems to me that it was during the period when you were dealing with the April Fool's joke. Since then, everything has been functional, although I didn't get a single +karma today, so I can't say 100% that no problem has arisen. ;)

Yes, it's the time i migrate the site to other hosting, it takes me many hours dealing with the new vps.

Then it’s just mine - when I made the post above I had 33 karmas but now it’s 35 and still no notifications.
Let me try restarting the bot to see if it will produce a different result.

I noticed the complete accident while I was online, I had a change in my karma count and one mention, but the Telegram bot sounded with a solid delay. The reason may be that you worked on it by adding new things.
I don't think it's a serious problem, as long as the notifications arrive.

About the karma delay, it always be delayed as i set the bot to scraped for 10 mins interval this is to avoid the bot spam the server. About the mention delay, it only happen when the bot is down or forum' server had downtime issue as i set it to 1 min interval for scrape the recent posts.

Although i noticed the delay also but it is nice you did it that way let there be a little time interval for the the bot to operate otherwise, it would seem as if the karma notification bot is spamming the server and that would likely cause issues and possibly a breach. But however, I trust you to your work as you do goods jobs coupled with the fact that you have vast experience in such work. You are really good man.

I dont think karma notification delay is important because I cant reply or see who sent it.
Delay for posts should be less if possible, sometimes I want to reply faster to member who mentioned me or replied something to my post.

but even if it were 20 minutes we can say that it is an acceptable time, if by chance it causes you problems in my opinion even a simple daily report can be fine
I myself created a scraper for myself, which takes my karma status 1 time a day, I'm interested in knowing how much karma changes every day, not every minute :)

Is your bot working properly? For me I am having some issues. I never get any kind of personal notifications about mention or quote. The only notification I get are from the tracked topics! From the image below, you can clearly see both Freemind and Jokers replied to my post. But in the bot there is no notification on April 24 for those specific replies. Is there any way to fix that??

The logic is that when two or more members simultaneously give karma, for example, one each, the karma notifications received are not immediately added up but are still displayed one by one according to the number of karma givers.
Admin and specific staff can give karma more than one at a time. The following is an example of karma that I have received:

Most likely, there were two users simultaneously (or almost) since only the administrator and the president can give more than 1 karma to the same user. Users are limited to 10 hours when they want to give karma to the same user.

Aside from mentioned above. The reason why you also get a notification of more than 1 karma is because the bot scrapes karma numbers in every 10 minutes, so if multiple users sends you karma in that time frame, next time the bot scrape your profile you will get more than 1 karma.

You should still get notifications whenever someone mentions you, even if you add a specific topic to the track topics menu.
Or maybe try deleting the chat and exiting the bot, then joining again with your username. This time, don't add any topics to the Track Topics Menu.

It "never" worked for me. I even checked all of my notifications. And among those 500–1000 notifications, all of them were from "TRACKED TOPICS".
I'll try to delete the bot and restart everything from the beginning. I don't know the proper way to do this but I'll try anyway, let's see if it works.

Same username (DYING_S0UL) unless I wrote incorrectly the previous time. But I don't think that's the case.
Edit: Just now.. got a positive karma notification. :D

It might be but it actually matters, because the bot only detects the string characters of what user inputs for altcoinstalks username on registration. Once you did a typo, you won't get any mention, but will work on other features such as tracked boards and topics. If you input wrong user id (user profile url), you won't get any karma notification.

I changed the interval of karma notification in 1 hour for the reason that it affect my servers at the recent downtime for some reason, it is lessen now. So expect of longer receiving karma notification and receives more than 1 karma if ever you receive mor karma in that 1 hour interval.

Maybe you have run out of server resources.
One hour interval is long time period but if this is only for karma notification that is acceptable.
It is more important to have faster notifications when someone mentions or tag me in post.

I don't think there is anything to worry about, at least not when it comes from this Altt bot.
My Telegram also went wild, I got several notifications for the same post.
I assume that this is part of this "planned" testing

Had similar experience as well but in my own case it was much more than 35 in a row from different posts which got me nervous wondering what was happening. You could imagine having such huge numbers of posts on your notification from this platform and would be like you have committed an offence that needs your immediate attention to come explain yourself but I was a bit calm when I checked in and it was not what I thought was happening. I believe by now the issue must have been sorted out by PX-Z.

Apologize for the inconvenience i was working with something and i uploaded the file that is not ready yet. This issue must be fixed now, last time i saw multiple mention was 05/09 and started on 05/04 based on my logs.

What i mean is, i cannot log the exact number of karma transaction and its date of those past 3 days. The bot will only get the current karma numbers after the bot works again earlier which means there is still karma notifications.

I just got a notification of my huge negative karma due to what happened yesterday. I am kind of frustrated by seeing how the admin of a forum reacts publicly and punishes users for their honest mistakes. Anyway, I don't want to write off-topic here. I haven't been getting notifications for mentions and karma, and I thought it was the usual downtime. But I didn't know that your website was down due to a hosting server issue. Glad to see that the website is working again.

I heard the news few days ago about one of the biggest botnet taken down in EU and they seized a lot hard drives in this operation.
Maybe there is some connection with this, I even saw hashrate going down a lot for some coins.

Yeah, maybe its something to do with this news, as i guess, the servers were rented or housed on those datacenters located at that area. The instance regions of pxzone is located in Amsterdam/Netherlands which was mentioned on the article too.

I think it is possible.
You can use some regex to ignore words like nagbenta

It can't be helped but to laugh, sorry (PH humor). This is really frustrating actually, i usually encountered this too as well as in bitcointalk when someone posts there address with "pxz" since it's one of my tracked words/phrase in both forum bot, and i'm keep wondering why i was mentioned on a thread i don't post. Let me know if this happened to any of you in bitcointalk tg bot, well i guess only for tracked phrases.
I use stripos (https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.stripos.php) function on this, but i just found a hint and possible solution, thanks to bitmover for prompting chatgpt. ;)

Yes, it works on that too. Basically, all special characters that is placed in first or/and last in the username will work, e.g. "@agbe", "agbe's" and "@agbe's".

I just checked the logs (two different IP) that there were duplicate to multiple notifications sent to each users, I apologize again. This happened because the older server i used wasn't stop yet, after it works again earlier the scraping continue run almost the same time for cron job for the two server causing to multiple sending of notification. This is also because i still allowed/whitelist and forget to remove the ip address of the old server.

Yeah, I can feel your pain. If care is not taken your name is more more in bitcointalk because that is the first concept to tell newbies and to participate in bitcoin. Examples, Go and learn bitcoin, I think you have not learn bitcoin that is why you don't k ow anything. Everyone needs to learn bitcoin etc. the mentioning would be much therefore you have to add a prefix or suffix to it so that it will change the narrative. As Examplens did his.

Yeah, the bot stop working in the past 2 days because of the past server i mentioned where i upgraded, just 1-2 days after upgrading, the hosting got a problem again, it looks like server downtime is chasing me lol.
Now i change hosting and get vps in ultahost (basic plan) just yesterday, and tried to setup it up. That's why you will get more notifications because i'm scraping posts from earlier posts.

you could think about a load balancer with two servers behind it on two different hostings so you can always have uptime

Is your new hosting accepting bitcoin and other crypto or only fiat payments?
I don't know what you are using now, but Flokinet is one of the better hosting providers, they are based in Island and they accept many cryptocurrencies including monero and bitcoin.
There are few more options available but I am not sure how pricing is compared with what you have.

Yes, they are accepting crypto payments — those major ones. I checked Flokinet the one with their basic/cheapest plan it's almost have the same features with the one i'm currently using, it just mine doesn't have ddos protection and cheaper a little.

How about the hostinger? As far as I used the hosting provider companies, I get better performance on hostinger. And their site loading speed smooth moreover, they have many servers around the world which makes the hosting service more smooth. Anyway, I am not their agent but I am satisfied with their service that is why I saying. My current official site cryptolibrary.pro is hosted by hostinger. And it's supported crypto payment.

Okay, here is one thing I didn't know about this bot. I never knew that this bot sent notifications even if my name was mentioned in the title/subject of a post and not in the post itself. Recently, I created a thread named Airdrops update by Learn Bitcoin, and I was getting notifications for every reply. I thought they had mentioned my name in the post or they have quoted me. But later, I discovered that they didn't quote my post or did not mention my name. It was the Topic title which is the reason I was getting notifications. Well, this is not bad though.

Bot checks the subject and post content, including the quotes, so every time your post is quoted, you will be notified.

You are right that their first subscription was cheap but in case of when the subscription time will expert I have to pay more than the first subscription. Like for .pro domain gave around 36 dollar for single web hosting for 12 months. But I think this package is better than paying $10 monthly for web hosting in this case when the subscription is taken for a little longer term that's good.

Maybe it's better to ask him if paying for hosting is a financial burden for him. As far as I understand, everything he does is voluntary and he does not receive any compensation for it, he only has server costs and of course his invested time and effort.
Perhaps some support in the form of a donation or advertising would help in further development and selection of better hosting.
My offer for free hosting (this is regular paid hosting, but I would give away part of the resources for free) still stands, but it's shared hosting and I'm not sure if it's adequate for things like a Telegram bot.

Well, when I proposed that company I didn't do it thinking about the cheapest prices or anything like that, what interests @PX-Z is that he can pay with Bitcoin (and I suppose other cryptocurrencies) for the services acquired, and at Coin Host it is possible to pay with about 130 coins/tokens. As I said, I have been using their services for many years and have never had any problems of any kind. I don't mind paying a little more if I avoid problems that I might not be able to avoid at another company.

As for the uptime of the bot, so far since changing its server its online status is consistent and always up, didn't experience of downtime.

I don't use Telegram these days but back in the days I used it frequently. If you are using it on VPN, TOR on your mobile device then sometimes it takes time to update the backend and sends notification with a delay.

There are no bugs noticed on my end.
Sometimes I get notifications slower but I dont consider that to be a bug, and I think you fixed most of the problems when you changed hosting provider.
Just be careful not to go over the limit with your hosting package.

Unfortunately, that's impossible to do as you have said it needs login info of the users which is true for the bot to see those info. I don't think any of the users will want to share these info. Besides that there's always an email notification in every PM in the forum.

Unfortunately, that's impossible to do as you have said it needs login info of the users which is true for the bot to see those info. I don't think any of the users will want to share these info. Besides that there's always an email notification in every PM in the forum.
Rather than I think there is no need to see private message via Telegram bot because we already get the notification of private messages by email when we receive a pm.
The thing that we don't get notification through email is Mentions and also we can't track topics or we can't track board or an user. And I think it is ok to use telegram bot for these. It does not make sense to receive this notification by Telegram sharing personal information of forum.

Just like i mentioned in the past this isn't possible until admin make changes on the karma, specifically for this feature.

What username did you use to register on the bot? make sure that "NikeFit_7777" is the one you used, for once the bot scrape posts that "word" — your username, will be checked if it exists on the particular post, then send you notification. That's how the bot works. So far i'm still getting notified, i just don't to others. Would be glad if they will give their thoughts too.
Edit: Upon checking the logs, you should receive a notification from this post.

I was searching for the notifier bot for Altcointalk similar to Bitcointalk. I found it today thanks to OP for creating such a bot. I will be using it to see how it works. It did not ask me anything to input only whether I wanted to get a notification which looked less complex than BTT notifier when I first used it.

Yes, by default the bot will send notification once your posts were quoted, your registered username (in telegram) was mentioned and when you received karma points (both negative and positive).

You mean you only want to get notified for karma and not for reply/quotes/mention? Its not possible yet but i can consider this for optional notifications in the future.

That's right, it would be useful for me personally if I could choose only one notification option, specifically for karma. If you have time, and if it's not too demanding, I would be grateful if you could provide us with such an option in some new versions.

Btw, as for the new update, the default notification option for all the existing users was enabled for both mentions/quotes and karma notifications. You can disable/enable it on the Notifications page. There are also questions on the start/registration for these options.

Karma notifications don't seem to work.
Is there a fixed period of time that should elapse between the action and the notification? For example, no longer than 30 minutes or something like that.

I checked the log but i see no repeated notifications sent there, what i mean repeated notification is log messages with the same post id and your username as mentioned. It could be great if i can see a screenshot of the telegram messages/notification if you don't mind.
If there is user/s you don't want to get mentioned, ignoring user on the bot would help. Although the bot doesn't have the ignore topics yet to ignore mention from a certain topic thread.

Yeah, +karma notification does not happen like this maybe only for -karma. I will check into this. Thank you!

When I saw this yesterday, I put it into practice by disabling my mention and karma notifications. And all the notifications from yesterday and today were muted and when I checked my post history just now, I discovered that I have some mentions and and also karma. So I think it is working perfectly. Thanks for the features. It is a gradual process that the forum is improving.

It may sound funny, but I still check my own posts to check whether anyone replied to me or not. I'm 100% confident with you bot at BTT, but here it's 98%. Ignore my sarcastic response. :P

Now that you mention it, I don't know about it, too, but as long there is a technical log error, I can say something about it but other than that, no. I can only speculate.
I can only think is, maybe it's something about the Unicode character used in your local language, but that's only a guess though.

Yes, I've checked the logs, and some users got multiple notifications too, but not every mention got multiple notifications, I'll try to get where this come from. Thank you for the feedback.

Btw, I think, I have seen such characters before, when you save a notepad containing Unicoded character without specifying the encoding format, this happens! It saves as some random messy unreadable texts!

Nope! What type of setting are we talking about here? As far as I am aware, I haven't done any modification, nor using any custom fonts! This issue is related to Unicode character, I guess!
Tell me if other notification mention from your local has the same issues.
I talked with a local member regarding this issue and he said he also noticed this same issue (broken text).
Btw it seems like the issue has been fixed. Both of us did got the broken texts at first but now it's looking okay!

Even if the texts are coming as broken, at least ensure that the notifications are being sent to the users! That should be enough for now. Broken texts aren't a big deal! Tbh, nobody reads the posts from the notifications either! Just make sure the title and the notification functions are working!

Yeap I want to also say the same think when I saw this bug for the first I thought that may be I am gonna saw the error type something but nothing change everything is normal as previous when I click to the mentions notification. And I am also always directly check by clicking on the link.

I don't consider this bug anything major! It's better if you observed the situation a bit more! As long as, I at least get the notifications, I am ok with that, I don't care if the texts are broken or not! Getting the notification should be the main priority!

After your last reply in which you quoted me, I thought it was fixed. But I got a notification after three hours, and it seems it wasn't fixed. It seems you are having a hard time finding the issues, which is why you cannot fix the problem. I have been noticing this for a couple of weeks now but have not bothered to report it. Because I see that sometimes it works, I thought you were already working on it. I do not have coding knowledge, and I don't know how to fix it. But I guess you could ask TryNinja if you are facing an issue fixing it.

Were you able to determine the cause of this? The last broken notification I got was on December 7. After that, I haven't noticed anything unusual. Btw, apart from our language (Bangla), did any of the other members from different region reported this same issue to you? I'm only asking this because you said non-English characters!
One thing I don't quite understand is that, how come sometimes it's working and sometimes it isn't ?! I mean if something is broken, shouldn't it be broken for all! ???

We used different programming language on bot creation and process so i don't think it's possible, a suggestion of idea might be helpful but it's all over in the internet since we use different language so functions/prorcess/library/solutions used are different.

I was surprised to see the error message. The first message said I was tagged by admin by cheating and later another message was "we apologize if you received the previous message it was an error from our end" and another one again. Is the problem from the forum or the bot?

I was so confused and frustrated about receiving that such of messages tag by admin, I was like I haven’t disobeyed any rules or orders from the forum why would I get a negative karma and tagged by admin as a cheater I was so furious lol. I rushed and login my account and network wasn’t that strong I was so hasty and angry then I log in and I rushed to my profile I didn’t see any strike on my profile and no negative karma and I later saw this thread and I got relieved it was just a error. After seeing the telegram both notifications I was about to file a complaint and I was in anger then I found out it was error. But what causes the error?

Well it's quite possible that this forum is more immune to DDos attacks and that could be the reason why we've not experienced them frequently here. Anyways it seems the bot is still having some issues with selected notifications aside from the two last messages that were something generally, it seems the bot takes longer than expected to process new topics.
Could it possibly be as a result of some cloud fare issue? Because I noticed that on my end I get relatively more human verification pages loading up when I try accessing the forum unlike before when it was mostly only on the login page.

I actually enabled it after a few days when the forum's CF configuration became stable, but I regularly checked it due to malfunction and then disabled the scraper for karma but the notification is still working, after the user posted it scrape user profile, if there are changes in karma the notification works.
Edit: I just enabled it, which scrapes every 2 hours to avoid have a huge effect to forum's server load.

Not only scraping karma notification also any mention noticing us this telegram Notifier bot. It is very helpful for us. When any user mention me instantly i am notifying through this telegram bot. Even if anyone get positive or negative karma this bot notifying that.

admin is obviously not used to the benefits of the notification bot, otherwise he wouldn't have kept us on Cloudflare's aggressive setup for too long. Without it, two seemingly different experiences in using the forum.
It is good that we are functional again, I hope that there will no longer be a need for reinforced measures to protect the forum.

I actually less often visiting the forum in the past days due to the absence of the bot notification (as i track new boards posts too), and i guess some have the same experience too.

I don't think anyone needs to have superfast notifications for karma.
Maybe you can reduce number of requests for that and collect data only few times per day or even one time daily would be good.
Post notifications are more important and they should be sent to users as they happen in real time.

@Igebotz I just checked that the username you entered is different on the bot, that's why you havent received any karma notification, that's why i suggest before to use "Igebotz" instead. Nevermind i fixed some lines and the notification should work as long you entered correct user id.

That's good to hear. I fixed it by reconstructing my data, as i use username for validations (username from karma log table joined on users table data to get full user data) before that's why it wont go through to you for karma notification since you only entered your username as tracked phrase (i assume) since the recorded username you entered is different ("Igehh" or something) but I changed every validations to UID.

Yes I did, tons of notifications. Though, as at yesterday being 14th January, 2025, I didn't receive any notification as I'm sure it was under going some maintenance, cause the notifications I've gotten today is a lot.
I only got to ask if there's something activated on my account here in the forum that I'm not aware of or something i need to disable on the bot. Other than this, the bot is working perfectly fine.

The default notification work only if your post were quoted and if your username is mentioned anywhere in the forum. Tracking new boards topics, topic replies, users post, phrases will only work if you enter it on the bot depends on the buttons you choose from, can you share a screenshot of the bot notifications you received?

That's pretty normal if they mentioned your username, check the link for yourself if your username is indeed mentioned on the reply/thread. Mentions doesn't have any restrictions on any boards except for Trash board since the bot won't scrape that board.

Edit: I used "||" (Or) instead of "&&" (and) operator on the if else condition. It should be fine now.

Of course, that's fine. You must feel some satisfaction for your effort; you really made it easier for many people to use this forum. Just make sure that the ad is not more dominant than the content of the notification itself.

Yeah, it's All good now. There was no problem from the beginning; It was just my misunderstanding, which is why I was kind of puzzled. LOL. I was wondering what the hack is happening. Once I delete the bot and block it, it should not have any data and it should start from the beginning, but how the hell the bot is saying "Hello learn", LOL :D

I think it would make it easier for anyone who uses the forum on a desktop computer and wants to log in to the bot using their smartphone.

The UID you are taking about, is sometimes hard to come by. Those who were new always faced this. When I first joined the forum, and needed the UID to teleport, I couldn't find it. You have to be logged in as guest, search your account and then you'll be able to find that unique id you mentioned. There could be another way, but I am not aware of it.

Mentions will work, but not for karma notifications since there's no way to access someone's profile page using just their username, you need to provide the UID.

I would also mention that adding tracked phrase, users, ignored users were changed to easier way than before that needs to add e.g. "User: username" when tracking users.

I'm still researching how to do it. Creating a SimpleX Chat bot is actually more complex than I expected, and there are very few existing bots related to SimpleX that I can use as references.

I checked my telegram notifier and I couldn’t notice anything as such, I didn’t see any duplicate maybe it a glitch from your telegram or maybe from your network sever. Seems it will definitely be network sever or problem from your bot. Can you try and confirm it and check maybe it still happening again cause I quoted you and still mention you minutes ago. Try and check maybe the same problem is still occurring. @icopress

Yes, this is the right answer, there's no optimization yet for this kind of "duplicate" notification, so you will receive every single notification when you track the same username and phrase.

How many times does the bot scrapes messages? Just once?
I think (not sure though) that in the BTT version of the notification bot, if someone makes a post and edits it within 5 minutes, let's say he adds a mention or uses @, that person is notified even though the original message didn't include a username or @ mention.
So, you don't have that feature in your AltcoinsTalks Telegram Notifier bot, right? :)

I hope that the owners of the telegram bots and forum admin will work out modalities to get the bot updated and running like the Bitcoin talk bot does.

In the post after the one you quoted, it was given a correct explanation of what happened in this case. And no, it's not any malfunctioning.
I've been using this bot since day one and can confirm that it's been working almost flawlessly for the past few months, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Maybe if you could give a specific example that you noticed, it would certainly be useful to the developer

After some time spent using simpleX chat bitcointalk bot made by tryninja, I think it has big potential and I like it more than old telegram bot.
Word of warning, tryninja said that bots in simplex are working differently because they don't use servers like telegram is doing, so there are some bugs along the way.

I guess you shouldn't because it is not possible to register a px-z username if there is already a PX-Z

No, its not. I'm using preg_match() which do case-insensitive search on strings for the pattern given (username).
I guess i found the possible reason for this which i have added earlier, it might cause others for not receiving notification (I suppose, but its purpose are completely different)

I first heard about the Telegram bot from @Kingsden when he made a comment quoting me but I didn't know this was what he was actually talking about. You're a genius @PX-Z.
There's something I want to ask, what if a user types in another UID that is of another user's account, will the person be receiving notifications associated to that account?
And also, I tried using my profile link to complete the process but it kept repeating same reply.

When you enter wrong UID, if its existing, you will receive the +- karma notification of that user's UID, if its not existing, you wont receive anything at all.
Your profile UID should be this one https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=89520
It should have the u=89520
Is this the URL you entered? And the question is still the same?

Yea, that is how cool it is. Just because you mentioned me, I have been notified and have joined the conversation. Just imagine that I wasn't using the telegram notifier, how on earth will I stumbled on this conversation that mentioned me.
In the other thread, you were mentioned severally without response, I then understood that you don't use the notifier.
Why would anyone put another user's UID?

Oh.. the URL didn't have the UID number at the last, it just ended with profile; that was the reason for the repeated reply. But I wonder why the URL wasn't complete from the link I copied.

I assume you only copied the URL of the "PROFILE" tab. While its basically correct since it will redirect to your profile page but its only effective when you're login session is up.
So the most recommended way is to copy the Profile info > Summary URL as it your UID is included there OR copy the URL of your username on thread where you've posted it works the same way.

This is a very very good job by @PX-Z, most times I just check threads where I've made comments to know if anyone mentioned me, so I can also post a comment to reply. I don't have any special magic to know if I was mentioned that was why it took a long time for me to post a comment of response on that particular announcement thread.
And now, I just have an alarm to ring whenever I'm being mentioned/quote in a comment, big thanks to PX-Z.

Congratulations to you. You will definitely have a different and better user experience in this forum from henceforth. I have checked your profile and discovered that you were not teleported from Bitcointalk. Anyone who came from Bitcointalk background are already familiar with telegram notifier bots.

Yeah, the server got so many "server has gone away" error lately and im currently fixing it. So some notifications will not push through. I didn't even receive a notification of you posting here since i tracked new replies of this thread.

How did you discover you were mentioned? Where you manually scrolling through some threads and saw where you were quoted or mentioned but wasn't notified by the bot?
I had just relied on the bot for total notifications. I haven't been mentioned for a while, I just thought there were no much activities.

PZ's best way to cash up with missed notifications, I do the manual checking and reading through the threads I posted before this way I don't miss out on any quotes a ND replies to my comments, I hardly use telegram notifications on this forum although I haven't noticed any inactiveness from the bots on quotes and the rest
This may be a result of my manual activities which make me keep updates with threads I am engaged in don't know much about bot functionality although read a few comments and complained about the bot malfunctioning sometimes but hope that errors have been corrected by now.

That's how I do it before now, but since I started using the telegram notifier here, I don't see the reasons of doing that again.
